Wolf Willow Jewelry

Once Mother Nature creates the seeds, I complete the process of making them into a beautiful piece of jewelry.
Each seed will have it's own character due to natural imperfections which enhance the uniqueness of each creation.
A beautiful feature of the seeds is that, over time, they develop a rich patina from the natural oils in your skin

Also known as "Buffalo Berry"

The Wolf Willow shrub is very abundant throughout the Crowsnest Pass but especially along the Crowsnest River which flows through the famous Frank Slide.
These seeds were first collected by Aboriginal and Métis people then processed into beads which were used in jewellery making.
Necklaces of the seeds were often exchanged by newlyweds in the belief that these gifts would ensure health and happiness.

I am honoured to continue this traditional craft.
